Johnny Cowling gave a large audience of 170 people a happy and fun evening of jokes and singing. He was impressed by the restoration of the church and stressed how important these ancient community buildings are for local people. People seemed pleased with the lighting and heating although at one stage all the lights went out - but eventually came back on. It was presumed to be a lightning strike.
